Hitchhiking Ghosts

Like a lot of people I love the Disney parks. I really haven’t been to them that many times, especially as an adult, so it’s special when I get to go. The best part is seeing my kids experience it. I loved the parks as a kid, the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Enchanted Tiki Room being particular favorites. The Haunted Mansion was something of an obsession, and this was pre-internet days so it was harder to come by any info or images. It’s so easy now, and I do like to watch videos about it and learn everything I can. And as usual my son has followed in my interests. The hi-light of our last trip was seeing the new Hatbox Ghost finally installed.

I’m surprised I haven’t drawn the Hitchhiking Ghosts before. I certainly thought about it, and they are probably my favorite part of the ride. Definitely the most iconic part. And they were a lot of fun to draw. I like the classic blue tones of ghosts like this, and it’s fun to work in. Green works ok too, but these ghosts are pretty famously blue so I wanted to keep with that.
